Stay with us!

We have a guest suite attached to the Château (main house & winery) with its own entrance that we rent out on Airbnb. Wake up to an oasis of tranquility with beautiful views, surrounded by a plethora of gourmet and cultural opportunities.

The guest suite (apartment) is the original farmhouse from the time of Napoleon. It is spacious and bright with beautiful views, a charming kitchen, a large living room with a fold out sofa and a separate bedroom with a king size bed. Decorated in French country antiques and charm it also is up to date with modern amenities and a newly remodeled bathroom with a full-sized shower.

You can enjoy outdoor dining on the front patio, and walk the gardens, woods and vineyards. The house and apartment is in the middle of our property - almost seven acres of vines, fruit trees, woods and gardens.

A great base to explore the surrounding famed wine regions of Bordeaux like St. Emilion and Sauternes and some lovely castles in the area like Chateau de Roquetaillade or Château de Cazeneuve. And don't forget, the famous painter, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's Summer home, Château Malromé, is our neighbor!

Calendar

Here’s what you might experience while you’re here during the year...

  • January - “Taille” or pruning the vines.  Coquille St. Jaques (fresh scallops) in season!
  • February - Fixing posts and wires in the vineyard.
  • March - “Pliage” - tie down the pruned vines to the wires and bottling previous vintage.  Enjoy fresh oysters from Arcachon Bay.
  • April - Spring!  Planting veggie garden, everything blooming (cherry blossoms, apple trees, Wisteria).   Mowing, lots of village “vide-greniers”  (yard sales) and hoping it doesn’t freeze or hail.  Lovely white asparagus in the market and the first strawberries of the season.
  • May - Shoot thinning in the vineyard.  Make strawberry jam from the market and cherry jam from our trees.
  • June & July -  Marche nocturnes:  Night markets are like pop-up dinners to enjoy in small towns around the area.  Dubbed “our favorite restaurant” with food and wine sold by the producers themselves.  So much fun!
  • August - The whole of France goes on vacation.  Relax and watch the grapes ripen, remove leaves, maybe do a green harvest to reduce the yield.  Hunt for wild mushrooms (cepes and chanterelles).
  • September - Le rentrée (back to school).  Harvest whites, enjoy Arcachon oysters again, begin to pick apples and pears.
  • October - Harvest reds.  Apples, tomatoes & veggie garden in full swing.
  • November - Fermentation ends.  Put wine to barrel.
  • December - Cozy up by the fire and enjoy the holidays.

“This place is a dream. It's off the beaten path, on a working vineyard, and has the kindest hosts...The only problem is the location is so stunning, you don't want to leave! “

“Château la Corne lies beautifully on top of a hill in the middle of the vineyards.... You can sit outside in the lovely yard and enjoy the views and quietness. But the best is having Diana and Steve as hosts: So in short: we really recommend Château La Corne!”
Lucy from England

“Steve and Diana's farmhouse and vineyard is absolutely stunning… The views and surrounding countryside is very beautiful and peaceful. The apartment is lovely, private and very spacious...There are bustling market towns all around and beautiful villages to see and Bordeaux is just a short train ride away. We would highly recommend a visit to Ch. La Corne.”

“Our stay at Chateau La Corne was simply wonderful and we highly recommend it! It is in a great location, hidden far off the main road, on a hill with spectacular views, surrounded by vineyards. It is the kind of setting that inspires you to write a novel, paint the scenery, or compose music!”
